This year was my first year taking photographs of fireworks. I am still getting used to taking photos in low light and with fast motion but I think these are the best that came of the 100 or so that I took.
I had two chances to take photographs this year. There were fireworks on both July 3rd and July 4th so I got a chance to practice on July 3rd (the first batch of fireworks you see here) and then do it again on the 4th (the second batch). I had my camera set up on a large tripod on the first night, overlooking a river. The fireworks were quite a distance away so I had to zoom in a bit to see them clearly. On the 4th of July, I was a bit closer, positioned in the field in front of where they would be coming from (in a different park than they were on the 3rd). The ones on the 4th were defintely more specatucalr--your usual large explosions with brilliant colors, but both nights offered a great variaty of the differet types of fireworks to shoot.
As always, they were beautiful and it was fun taking photos of them.
